DUNWOODY REC ROOM

Two tiered bar counter top. Frame for the top tier was fabricated in one piece, overlapping the lower top by 10", and screwed securely into the cabinets below - eliminating the need for support brackets on the seating side.

The upper tier of this countertop is supported by a frame that overlaps and is securely fastened down into the cabinets below, eliminating the need for support brackets that are hazardous to your knees!

The homeowner and I found the barn wood at Atlanta Specialty Wood in Kennesaw, GA, where the staff helped us find boards with just the right color and texure by literally moving and sorting thru stacks upon stacks of old barn wood. In order to hang the solid wood behemoth TV shelf, I built a frame to hold it in place while I drilled holes and shot ten inch lag screws thru the back of the framing into the back of this old barn beam.
